2020 AFAA Annual Meeting and Codes Conference

Hello everyone,

As you are all aware, COVID-19 is the biggest topic of discussion right now. Things are changing daily as the virus progresses. AFAA is committed to keeping our staff, instructors, members, seminar/conference attendees and guests healthy and safe during this unprecedented time. We have taken precautionary steps to help stop the spread.

Due to the unforeseen circumstances, we are going to be cancelling our upcoming annual meeting and codes conference. This decision was a difficult one for us to make, but we value the health and safety of others, so we feel this is the appropriate action at this time.We will be holding our 2021 Annual Meeting and Codes Conference in Phoenix, AZ at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort. More details will follow at a later date but plan on May 3-6, 2021. We are also working on other alternatives to provide training to those in need. Please keep an eye out on our social media platforms and watch for any e-mail announcements.

We are working on putting together a webinar for what would have been the first day of our event, in lieu of the changes made. We are still planning to hold our elections as well. We will release more details next week as we are still finalizing things. Please check out website and social media platforms for all of the most current information.

We have come up with a few options if you have already registered for our upcoming annual meeting and codes conference in regards to refunds. Please keep in mind, everything will have to go through the appropriate channels and we ask for your patience as we handle the refund process.

1. You may receive a credit on your account and apply it to next year's program. More details will be released at a later time, but plan on May 3-6, 2021 in Phoenix, AZ at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort.

2. Receive a refund from AFAA within the next 60 days

  • If you were registered as an exhibitor, you may maintain the table number that was originally picked if you wish to receive a credit and apply it for next year.
  • If you paid for a sponsorship and would like to receive a credit and apply it to the same sponsorship next year, that option is available to you.
  • If you were registered as an attendee and would like to receive a credit to apply for next year, you have that option available. This includes a guest if you had initially paid for a guest.

If you are opting to receive a refund rather than applying a credit to next year's program, please keep in mind that the pricing is subject to change for our 2021 Annual Meeting and Codes Conference. In order to receive a credit and apply funds to next year's program, it must be paid in full. Any invoice that is open will be voided, so those funds are not applicable to next year's event.

If you had previously registered for our upcoming event in May and currently have an open invoice, please disregard any notices you may receive as it will be voided due to these unforeseen circumstances. Please be patient with us as we navigate through these changes.

While we know these are challenging times for many of us, we are here to help support you any way that we can. Please don't hesitate to reach out to our office with any questions or concerns regarding this announcement.

We hope that you and your families are staying safe and healthy throughout the spread of COVID-19.

Thank you,

Rodger Reiswig, SET
AFAA President
